5-30-03 - Macon County
Speedway in Layfette had a Great Night of Racing under the stars tonight!
Kids in Karts; Men in Midgets; and Chevettes Galore! And I Must Say, I Was
Impressed!!-) I don't know everyone's name there yet, so I can't
tell you who won what, but I will have the photos up on my Stormys.biz
website sometime next week hopefully and You can figure it out! And I didn't
know Go Carts would Go that fast! With wee youngins driving them! A couple of
kids had a crash going into the number one turn, flipped one cart upside down on
another one! And when they turned the carts back over the kid was ready to do it
again! (hummmmm, must be nice to be so young and Not Know what 'nerves'
are!-) Another class of karts did some banging and had a few wrecks and a
Lot of Excitement too! And the Midgets, now They were really neat! And Really
Fast too! Not to mention they look like a little outlaw sprint without the wing!
Really 'hauled' around that little flat dirt track too!'-) And the
Chevettes, well Everyone Knows how wild and woolly the Chevettes get on a small
track, Especially if it's dirt! So needless to say, They put on a good show
tonight too! Oh, and the driver that won That class was the Only Driver I Knew
by name... Kenny Wix! So if you want to go for a pleasant family night of
racing, I would suggest you check out Macon County Speedway! The gates open
Friday Nights at 5pm with racing starting I believe at 8pm.
