NASCAR Might Lose It's Title

RJR says they are considering
ending its longtime partnership....
Back on January 29th, NASCAR and
ConocoPhillips (76 gasoline), announced it will not renew the
sponsorship as the Official Fuel of NASCAR after this season. The
sponsorship has lasted for more than 50 years but the company is
prompting new marketing strategies to promote several regional brands
instead of one national product.
In January, R. J. Reynolds Tobacco
Company ended its sponsorship of the National Hot Rod Association and
professional golf but continued to sponsor NASCAR's Winston West stock
car series. Then

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 28, 2003) - NASCAR has formed a new
"feeder system" for its three national series, with the
creation of two new racing divisions. The all-new NASCAR Elite Division
and NASCAR Grand National Division will provide a clear path for local
and regional racers to advance towards the NASCAR Craftsman Truck
